The concept of the game is really simple; you are a stickman with a spear and you need to shoot the enemies with your mighty spear. You gain money for each kill you make which you can use to buy stuff to make your stickman stronger. This is an incremental type of game which mean that after each round, you restart over from the beginning but you keep the money you earned.

I really like this game. The rounds can be really fast and you don’t really get any penalties if you quit earlier. Perfect game if you only got a couple of minutes ahead of you. The concept is easy and anybody can play it and make it far.

After playing for a while, here is a couple of tips and tricks for The Spearman!

Holding doesn’t increase the damage of your shot

At first, I thought that my stickman had to “charge” his throw but this is false. You don’t need to hold a shot longer in order to make more damage. All shot does the same damage and travel the same distance. This is why you should shot as many spear as you can and as fast as possible. You have infinite spear; use this at your advantage!

Aim for the head!

A shot to the head increase your damage a lot but it also gives you 4x more gold! In order to progress faster and kill more enemies, hitting their head is essential as it gives you more money and can kill enemies way faster. A shot to the legs barely hurt the enemies.

Left handed?

Are you left handed? Make sure you go to the settings in the Main Menu and select the option “Left Handed”!

Earn even more gold!

At first, enemies only earns you 1 gold and 4 gold per head shot, but that amount doubles the further you get. Passed 10 enemies, that bonus is already x2 and keep increasing the more you kill enemies.

Shoot before your enemy appears

When all enemies are dead on the screen, this doesn’t mean it’s time to take a break! Keep shooting and try to guess where the next enemy will appear. If you hit an enemy right when he appears, you will earn extra seconds that will be precious in later stages as more and more enemies appear at the same time.

Spears doesn’t shoot strait

The spears that you shoot doesn’t travel in a direct line. They do a small lob simulating real life gravity. If you have trouble shooting at your enemies, you can practice yourself in the Main Menu before hitting the start button. There is no enemies so you can take all the time you need without dying.
