Cooking Craze – Review: Cheats, Tips and Tricks

Cooking Craze is a game developed by Big Fish Games.

This is the classic serving game that you probably already played but it has something fresh that makes it really fun to play. I’ve been playing for a couple of hours and I need to say that I’m getting pretty hungry! I think I’ll take a break and go get donuts at my local donut shop.

This game is really simple and fun and I highly recommend it especially for parents that want their kid to learn by playing. If your kid doesn’t know how to read yet this game is perfect for him. You are the owner of a restaurant and customers show up at your counter and order food by showing you an image of what they want. You need to cook your food and put the right topping on it and serve them to the customers as fast as you can. This is excellent to make your brain working fast and learn to think quick.

Here is some tips and tricks that we found that could help you on your way to become the greatest chef the world has ever known.

Make sure your food is ready
Food doesn’t expire if it is in the main basket/plates. Make sure it is always full. You can anticipate the orders by cooking more food.
Let’s say you have 4 plate ready in the basket and 3 customers show up, you can straight away put at least 2 other food on the grill because you know that they’ll order at least that. Don’t wait until your plates are empty!

Upgrades
The first upgrades you should get are the cooking upgrade which gives you the ability to cook more product at the same time and faster. The second one you get should always be the one increasing your number of basket/plates to keep more food “ready”.
After that, do not forget to always upgrade when you can. Upgrades that increase the amount of money you get can be really good but don’t forget that upgrades that let you serve food faster should be your priority. Don’t forget the drinks! 🙂

Pro: Restaurants change each 10 levels and there is new upgrades for each new restaurant. If you are near the end of a chapter and you can handle the customers easily, stop buying upgrades. Keep your money for the next chapter because your money carry on. Once you unlock the next one, you’ll be able to buy upgrades straight away.

Get more money with combos.
Getting combos earn you extra money and points. If you can handle it, don’t serve customers straight away. Wait until you have 2-3 and serve them all at once. You get bonus coins by serving many plates in a short laps of time.
But, watch out! If they wait for too long, they get mad and you earn less money and they can even leave your restaurants. Be careful with this but learn to use it at your advantage to maximize your rewards. You’ll need that money to buy your upgrades.

Toppings
Do not put any toppings on your food before you know the customers order. You cannot guess their order and you don’t want to waste any food by having the wrong toppings.
This is even more relevant the further you are in the game because there is more and more combination of toppings.

Replay Levels
In this game, it doesn’t cost you any energy to play a level. You only lose hearts if you fail to complete a level. This means that you can replay the levels that you cleared to get extra money in order to buy more upgrades and unlock the extra rewards for each level.

Each level can be replayed 3 times and earn you with extra coins and spoons. The only challenge, is that the requirement to succeed the level increase with each replay, such as “make sure no customers leave your shop angrily”.

Boosts
Boosts can help you succeed if you are having trouble. Especially the boost that prevent your food from burning. This means that you can have full amount of food cooking at anytime which greatly increase your output potential. This is why it’s important to gather spoons so you can get more boosts!

  1. Mexico City combo levels. I receive three customers. I stack them and serve them only to get 40 coins out of 100 needed.
I’m fed up. I need help on progressing.

  2. I’ve been playing Cooking Craze for a while and am in Paris at level 69. I took on some shifts in the Food Court. The very first restaurant there on level 2, it asks for some kind of green topping to go on the first food on the left (looks like a scoop of mashed potatoes or a boiled egg) and I can’t find it. Also, is there a place where you can find th types of foods you are serving, for example, the mashed potatoes or what is it exactly?

  3. The game is impossible will not be playing it again.! Doesn’t matter how fast or in sequence you go you will never accomplish certain levels without paying for them!!!!

  4. I’m disappointed in this game. The gameplay is fun, but they tune the timed levels (for dishes and likes) to make them unwinnable without a boost. This means that you will eventually have to buy spoons with real money, since the coins you earn are eventually worthless.
If they allowed you to buy spoons with coins earned in-game or if they made the levels winnable (no matter how hard they are), I would love this game. But it is obviously tuned to force you to pay to play. No thanks.

    • Hi Cory,

Thank you for taking a minute to leave your opinion on the game as it will help others to see another vision of the game.
Unfortunately, this is mostly the case with freemium games and we need to agree with you that most games are very aggressive on the money making side. They want you to buy the premium currency at all cost. Even if it cost them players that want to play 100% free.

Thank you again for stopping by Cory.

    • I couldn’t agree more. I think that the Dev’s actually design the games to get you hooked, then make it impossible to keep playing unless you spend real $$$.
It really is a shame, back in the day, Big Fish Games was just as good if not extremely close to Pogo game site. Then they went in the toilet, and has never been the same. Big Fish Games basically can only survive now because they force you to pay for play. Eventually, this site will just shut down.
